BikeLog 080613: Herring Run Park

Felt tired and muscles were still a bit sore, but it got better after riding for a minute. Ride was strong and focused. On the way back I turned it up a little to make it back in time but was able to relax quickly again.

Date/Time:

06/13/2008 06:10 AM

Route:

Morning ride through Herring Run Park and around Lake Montebello. [Google Map]

I wish I had the camera with me. Some beautiful sights: a large part of the park (entrance) was covered in fog, and the pylons at the end of Herring Run would have made a great picture, too. It’s so strange how the park seems to change once you cross Sinclair Ln. It feels like entering “the zone” when you suddenly find yourself surrounded by an intense cricket orchestra and reach the sudden end of the path later with a warning sign indicating that it’s private property of Baltimore Gas and Electric from there on. Fascinating.

Length:

approx. 9.4 miles

Traffic:

easy going all the way, no dangerous segments

Weather:

nice, sunny, warm and not too humid

Bike:

Jamis Durango Hardtail Mod. with 26×2.5 Maxxis Hookworm
