Whole Wheat Walnut-Raisin Rolls

I found this simple recipe in the bicycling magazine. I liked these rolls–that’s all :)

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg Active Dry Yeast
  • 3 cups warm water
  • 3 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 1 cup high-gluten (bread) flour
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 cup dark raisins
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup walnuts

Recipe:

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water
  2. Combine flour and salt in bowl, slowly add yeast-water & knead until dough is smooth and elastic
  3. Knead raisins and walnuts into the dough and knead fo 5 more minutes.
  4. let rise until dough double in size
  5. cut into 24 pieces
  6. place pieces on parchment paper
  7. let rise for 1.5h or until double in size
  8. bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
